If your home is featured with a bay window, don’t let the space wasted. Take the benefit of your bay window by adding a seat that can be used as a good lounging space. You can add a window seat with storage underneath so that the seating will be multifunction. Bay window pillows are available at many resellers, but you can make them yourself if you want to customize them to your need and taste.
In order to make your own bay window pillows, you have to make a good preparation for your project. Determine the size of the foam and the fabric you will need by measuring your window seat including the width and the length. You can get the foam cut in the fabric store if you want it to be simpler. Once the foam and cut is cut, lay the foam on a flat surface and cut the corners to fit the space of your seating. You can firstly measure it and draw a line for cutting. Cut the foam with an electric kitchen knife and avoid using a sawing motion since it will make the foam shred. When everything is well cut, you can start placing the foam over a laid down fabric with the foam face down on top of the fabric. Cut around the foam using an electric sewing scissors leaving 4 inches on all sides. If the top is finished, now flip the foam over and cut a piece for the bottom leaving 4 inches on all sides. You can either sew the fabric to the foam or glue them if you can’t sew. So, you don’t have to worry about not having sewing skill for making the cushions.
Now you can make your own bay window pillows to complete the look of your bay window while making it more functional.
